What Gehry thought up on paper, Tobias Nolte has translated into plans. The Louis Vuitton Foundation, for example. After his studies and a research fellowship at Harvard, Tobias managed the offices of Gehry Technologies in Paris and New York. Today, he and Andrew Witt run Certain Measures, a research-based design studio. Using machine vision and Big Data, they transform waste into new creations. In a pilot project with Rieder, leftover concrete is turned into new facades. Their installation “Mine the Scrap” is part of the Centre Pompidou collection.
An evening with Tobias Nolte about designing with artificial intelligence, redistribution instead of recycling, and the beauty of building waste. Moderator: Nadin Heinich, plan A.
Architecture Matters Networks is a Germany-wide networking series for architects and the real estate industry.
Parallel to the annual Architecture Matters conference in Munich, we invite you to exchange ideas in a small circle. In times of great change, we focus on progressive ideas that will transform the building sector and our cities – new mobility concepts, designing with artificial intelligence, building with robots, and more. Stay curious!
Architecture Matters Networks is sponsored by Gira, Hansgrohe, Schüco, and TECE.
