Today it is the oldest handicraft business in Berlin: all of its porcelain creations are exclusively handmade. The Royal Porcelain Manufactory (KPM) was founded in 1763 by Frederick the Great – who was initially its best customer, commissioning 21 dinner services for his castles alone! Friedrich Schinkel, Gottfried Schadow and, in the late 1920s, Trude Petri and Marguerite Friedlaender, were among the artists who left their mark on the manufactory. From 1998 to 2003 the entire KPM quarter was reconstructed. Since 2006, the Berlin banker Jörg Woltmann has been the sole shareholder.
We invite you to a guided tour through the exhibition and a look behind the scenes at the production spaces of the porcelain manufactory. The evening will end on the restaurant ship PATIO – with a drink on the sun deck, if the weather allows.
