THOMAS SCHRÖER is a specialist in administrative law. As managing director of the law firm FPS he advises large project developers, renowned builders and numerous municipalities on complex large-scale projects such as high-rise buildings, administrative centres or building land developments. He is a member of the ‘Innovation in Construction’ commission of the Hessian Ministry of Economics and author of numerous guest articles, among others in the feature section of the FAZ.
How can construction be made easier, faster and cheaper? What are the individual federal states doing, to slim down the canon of regulations or to pragmatically update the protection of existing buildings in the sense of a conversion ordinance?
What follows from the realisation that the sovereign examination of building applications should be reduced to safety-related fundamental issues? And what does the long-announced ‘major’ amendment of the urban development law mean?
Simplifying planning and approvals – see what’s happening in the engine room.
