The City Together
Berlin

It’s the economy, stupid!

Just a year before the general election, we analyse the economic policies of the major parties with Michael Bröcker, one of the most prominent political journalists in Germany: Which concepts are supposed to succeed in transforming the economy? What is being said publicly – what is being kept quiet? What role does climate protection really play? How important is construction in federal politics?

From the big picture to the concrete: There have been plans for high-rise buildings on Alexanderplatz for around 30 years. Is their realization a necessary symbol of economic strength, indispensable for a capital city? Are high-rise buildings still appropriate from a sustainability perspective – or are they even indispensable for increased inner-city development? How much public welfare-orientated uses should they integrate? What can we afford?

An evening that combines the big picture with one of Berlin’s central squares.

The City Together is a Germany-wide event series fostering meaningful dialogue among key stakeholders shaping our cities. Initiated by Hines, the series is conceived and implemented by plan A. Along with organizing and developing the conceptual framework, we created the branding and visual identity.

In light of the fundamental transformation underway in the construction industry, the inaugural series is dedicated to the “Agents of Change“ – the visionary creators who are actively making the building transition a tangible reality – combining economics and ecology.
